How Can I List My School on EPF Challans and Transfer Employees from the Trust?

I have a trust that is registered under EPF. The trust contains a single school. I want to add this school as a unit so that EPF Challans may be in its name. However, when adding a unit, there is a requirement for the number of employees, and the employees of the school are already registered with the trust. How can I get the name of the school on EPF Challans or how can I migrate the employees of the trust to the school? Kindly suggest.

EPF registration is issued exactly as per PAN card details. It is PAN-based registration. You can generate a subcode, but there would be minimum charges payable monthly for the principal code (75+25).

If I take a sub-code, I will have to comply with both units, and there will be extra administrative charges. If I add a sub-code, what happens to the members who are already registered with the trust? Will they be removed or what?

They will leave the 1st code and will join the sub code. It would be better if you can visit the EPFO office and go to the establishment section for discussion. They are always helpful in resolving these issues.
