Government's PF Contribution for New Hires: Does It Apply to All Garment Industries?

N.Mohan
Dear Sir,

Very recently, the government announced that the employer's share of PF contribution will be borne by the government for new employees recruited by the employer. I need clarification on whether this applies to all garment industries or only to newly established companies. Additionally, please inform me whether this scheme has already been implemented or is still in progress.

What you said is only a news of the government. It would take years to implement; hence, do not expect the government will pay the share. Regarding your query on the garment industry and new industry, all are covered under the act.

It is a part of the incentive package announced by the government and applies to jobs in new factories for a three-year period. The detailed notification is awaited and should happen soon.

Meanwhile, you can go to the PRO at the nearest EPFO and ask; they will give you the current status and any information available on the scheme.

Dear Friends,

Things are moving quickly now. This may happen soon. A few guidelines are attached for your reference; please do not ignore them and start to avail of these benefits. This is applicable to all establishments with new enrollments. There is a special package for the textile industry compared to other industries.
