Should I Apply to Small Companies Only with My One-Year Experience? Need Advice on Resume Gaps

ravisatale
I am looking for a new job because I feel that with my current one-year experience, I can find better opportunities in other companies. Should I apply only to small companies or avoid big companies considering my previous history or situation?

Resume Experience Considerations

I am thinking of including only my current one-year experience on my resume. I completed my graduation in 2009, so showing only my current experience would create a gap of 3-4 years after graduation. Will this affect my job opportunities?

I definitely want to showcase only my current experience on my resume. Is this okay? Please suggest.

Why Do You Want to Leave Your Current Job?

My advice is to strengthen your foundation by staying there for a few more years. You already have a gap of 4 years after graduation. There might be issues in the current job, but try to find possible ways to adjust to those situations and stay there. It is not a crime to have a 4-year gap after graduation. Even though you had a gap, someone has offered you a job. Without staying for at least a minimum of 3 to 5 years, you want to quit. This will show the interviewer that you are not stable-minded.

Thank you for this valuable guidance. I am considering leaving my current job because when I applied for it, I misrepresented my experience. Now, I am contemplating changing jobs and only presenting my genuine one-year experience. Would this decision pose any problems with my future employer? I acknowledge that this is not right, but could you please suggest at least one solution and advise me on what I should do according to you? Thank you.
