The mandatory Public Holidays in India are as follows:

1. Republic Day - January 26th
2. May Day - May 1st
3. Independence Day - August 15th
4. Gandhi Jayanti - October 2nd

If you wish, you can additionally take 5 more days, making it a total of 9 days off.
