The Role of HR in Organizational Growth

HR, or Human Resources, encompasses the journey of employees from entry to exit within an organization. In any organization, HR's role is pivotal to its growth. The challenge of growth is faced by most companies in today's highly interconnected and competitive global economy. HR is presented with an incredible opportunity to enhance its impact on organizational performance. Nowadays, talent management and change management are inextricably linked to organizational success. By expanding its focus to include organization and work design, HR amplifies its influence on both employee and business performance. An organization's growth agenda presents a compelling need for this expanded HR contribution, which may include organic growth in new markets.

HR functions have honed in on the talent issues inherent in growth, including hiring, manpower planning and staffing, employee engagement, employee relations, reaching new talent pools, talent management, rewards and recognition, and developing existing employees to provide the necessary new knowledge and skills. Additionally, HR addresses the need for a rapid expansion of leadership capability. HR plays a crucial role in designing organizational growth. A poorly designed organization is like a colander; you can pour top-level talent and hours of effort into it, but it will not retain them. A well-designed organization uses its talent effectively, and HR works diligently to build this talent.
