Dear Sir
The Safety Pro should know the "Way of Saying NO" also... This is what lacking in most of the Safety Pro in today's Industry... They are doing the job which a line engineer/supervisor/manager suppose to do; only to please them as they not know the ways to say "NO"... Even after getting management support sometimes...
In most of the cases even though a safety professional is good in communication and if the top management is not supportive, he can't do anything... He will be helpless and will be like a jocker in circus...

Dear Dipil,
I slightly differ with your openion.
I am not a safety professional. Safety is the passion with which I work.
I always say in my training programs " a minute lost is lost for ever in production department, but other departments can generate time for them"
I have worked mostly in Production and I know the pressures the line supervisors, engineers, managers have. However at times I have demonstrated that the working in safe way increases the productivity.
Although late, my management has realised the efforts and I am persued for many of the processes and major decision making.
I appeal every one not to be impatient. Be on track, the things will fall in line.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Sudhir and Dipil,
Yess.,, We need to know the "Way of Saying NO" it’s very easy to say NO to our employees it’s really very hard to given a explanation to our employees for ‘’NO’’. In my safety team we always prepare a suggestion prior to say ‘’NO & STOP’’ with exact reference then only they can’t even ask ‘’why’’ to us.
As a safety professional we need to explain to employees whenever we say ‘’NO or WRONG’’ it must cover at least below mentioned points.
what the law Says?
what the manufacturer advice was?
What our safety plan says?
Finally COMMON SCENCE.
Remember one thing don't ever given a chance to other's ask question to you.

Dear All,
Way of approach is very important especially for safety professionals.
I will agree with Mr. Sudhir, Production people has more pressures and every second is contable for them.
But, "It is better to loose a minute in Life, than to lose life in a minute".
As a Safety Professional we have to convince the Unsafe behaviours in a motivative way.
As Mr. Dipil told that Management is just compliance minded, they will not respect safety in proactive way.
Then the professional will automatically appear as Joker in a Circus to all.
TRY...TRY...TRY... even if not workout leave the responsibility and search for a Right Organization.

Dear Dipil,
Sorry for being late.
The context in which I replied was the actions to be taken when the Top management does not support.
Safety professional should adopt an approach of Hightlighting the issue with probable solutions. (As said in management books "dont come with problems come with solutions")
Mr. Raghu and Mr. Srinivasa have said the same.
I have demonstrated the same.
And now, after 8/9 years my approach is recognized.
Stopping the work is an authority given to safety people, should be used only in extreme situations.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir
