Signing a Bond After Probation

If an employee completes 3 months and even the probation period, can the employer ask the employee to sign a bond for 1 year with the submission of any educational document without mentioning such a clause in the offer letter? Is it ethical? What is the actual policy of signing a bond with the employer?

An employer can ask an employee to sign a bond, particularly when offering the employee better terms or opportunities to hone their skills, such as sending them to a special, expensive training program, and expecting the employee to utilize the new skills for the organization for a certain minimum period. If there is no significant qualitative change in the service conditions agreed upon between the parties at the time of joining, it is not reasonable to push an employee to sign a bond, although legally, nothing prevents the employer from asking their employees to sign a bond at any time. It is better to follow a policy of persuasion and convincing to settle the issue.
