Double Shift

Human Resources15
Dear Seniors,
Kindly help... One of my friend is working in shifts and even after her shift is over she is forced to stay back for long hours and this kind rule is not imposed on all the other employees. The company is doing this to avoid keeping more people and to save on their cost. Almost doing double shift per day is not bearable for her and she wants to take some action.Because she is not given any compensatory off or any monetory benefit for the extra work she is doing.
Please guide what she should be doing as even HR in the company is not helping her out.
Thanks in anticipation.

Dear HR15,
It is not obligatory on any employee to work overtime, so no one can be forced to do so. If still someone is forced to do so then they shoul be given the OT i.e double the amount or compensatory off according to the company's policy. If she is forced to do extra time then she can ask for OT or otherwise she can go for an anonymous complaint in the respective labour department. But before all she can solve it through communication. Best of luck.

Dear Sir,
I do understand your point but when seniors ask you to work extra, one cannot deny it. Even my friend after talking to HR is not given OT or even compensatory off. Would filing of complaint under labor laws would be a wise decision or there can be some other alternative to solve the issue.
Thanks & Regards
