Plan Manpower Planning for a Retail Outlet

Imagine you are a regional personnel manager responsible for food retail stores in a growing economy. You have 28 stores in your area ranging from small grocery-style stores where only 7 people are employed, to large superstores where you have 1 store manager, 2 assistant managers, 12 line supervisors, 24 full-time check-out specialists, 45 full-time warehouse and store staff, and 35 floor assistants.

Carefully draw a manpower plan for the organization, indicating where and when staff should be employed within the organization. Consider how long they are likely to stay in their positions and future staff requirements.

Assume there are 6 cities in your region with 2 stores each (focus on large structures). The remaining 16 stores are located in small to medium peripheral towns.

Draw a manpower chart for the 12 large stores. Create a format for all work based on your assumptions.
