One of the reasons why nice people end up last is that they are not recognized in our country that has dynastic politics influencing the political and administrative set up. The same culture is inculcated in the corporate system too. If we can throw new leaders in politics emerging from middle class, this sycophancy problem will come to an end. But how new leaders will emerge in politics where people vote for "choiceless" elections?
No political party would give tickets to intelligentsia, they prefer those who are already in politics or those who are famous (like film stars and other celebrities) or those who either have muscle power or money power.
That is how Indian politics have got insulated from intelligentsia. During freedom movement and there after for two three decades during the prime ministership of Jawaharlal Nehru and L.B. Shashtri there was influence of intelligentsia on Indian politics. There after educated people started shifting towards Corporate sector and Indian politics was occupied by people having already roots in politics or people having money or muscle power.
That is why I have been fighting in many forums for implementation of my Constitution reforms package wherein I have introduced several measures like "No MP or MLA can contest elections more than once". That will ensure new people entering politics. I am enclosing my Constitution reforms Act, 2009 which also contains Q&A (questions and answers) which will throw light on what it is all about. I wish you all read and debate it in as many forums as possible so that you brilliant people would come into politics to not only save the nation but also to lend "quality leadership" to people of India.
You may not understand the Act, because it requires insight into Constitution...but you will definitely understand the Question and Answer session following it.
I hope you will play your part...
