Feeling Nervous About My Training Manager Interview – What Questions Should I Prepare For?

divya_i28
Dear all,

I am quite nervous as this has been my dream to be a part of a corporate company, and Friday's the D-day. I have been continuously browsing the website of Cite HR, which has really helped me numerous times to solve my queries. It has many experienced people sharing their views, ideas, and guiding everyone. This gave me an opportunity to post my concern as well.

I request the seniors and all the members of Citehr to kindly help me with some interview questions regarding the post of a "Training Manager" at your earliest.

Thanks,
Divya

Dear Divya,

The way you have written your post shows your casual attitude, which a seasoned interviewer will obviously notice.

In the interview, the following questions could be asked:

a) How was your earlier job related to the training field?

b) Explain the entire process of training from Training Need Analysis (TNA) to Evaluation of training.

c) How would you measure the performance of the training department? What were your KRAs? What difficulties did you face in meeting these KRAs?

d) What kind of training have you conducted and for what level? What was the outcome?

e) Imagine you are tasked with conducting training on a soft skill module. Prepare at least five objectives for this training module without using any external resources.

f) How would you assess the quality of a training vendor? Have you handled this responsibility before?

g) While the feedback on the training program was positive, there was no impact at the workplace. How would you address this situation and prevent its recurrence?

h) What training programs have you attended previously? What changes did they bring to your career? What changes have you implemented in your workplace after your learning?

Answering the above questions will require more than an hour. There are other aspects to consider, but this should suffice for now.

Best regards,

Dinesh V Divekar
