Standard icebreakers are too generic. I'll tell you of some, but -
well, what is your specific situation/ programme/ purpose ?
Give particiapants a minute -- if there are too many of them ; can't use this on a group of 6 people-- TO GET EVERYBODY'S (each others) AUTOGRAPHS.
Start the timer dramatically.
debrief saying that they had to GET autographs, but they all GAVE autographs.
BRIDGE variously to various content areas.
If participants are unknown to each other--
vizualization exercise followed by an
introduction game as follows :--
They close eyes. You describe an animation movie kind of thing,
SYMBOLS, one after another, of what you MIGHT want to know about a person when getting acquainted. EG---
A HUGE racquet - as high as a highrise building, -- symbolizes hobbies.
An aeroplane flies in, CUTS THRU the strings of the racquet--
symbolizing TRAVEL & INTERESTING EXPERIENCES
Prepare this exercise in detail urself. No short cuts please.
Pair / group them up. Let them within 2/3 minutes, gather info about each other.
make brief presentations INTRIODUCING OTHER PERSON, NOT SELVES.
Be careful here-- someone might misrepresent info due to poor listening,
thus annoying the other participant.
SO, GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO RESPOND n SUMMARISE ON THEMSELVES.
at the end-- each person mentions 1 unique thing about self.
SHOE ICEBREAKER-- available free on the net.
This one can be debriefed into various meanings.
