Can any one clarify if 10th May 2008( Polling date in Bangalore ) is a paid holiday. if so is it announced by Govt. Is it communicated in any official notification through the press.
Please clarify

As per The Karnataka Indutrial Establishments (National Festival Holidays) Act , 1963 Section 3A the day on which polling is held is a paid holiday.
May 06 2008, Vijay Karnataka has carried a news clipping about holiday on poll day. Holiday has been declared as per Shops & Establishments Act also.

It has been announced in the papers that BPO’s and IT companies can offer a two hour permission to the employees instead of a full day leave.
