Please find below mentioned Professional tax deduction on gross salary.
1. Rs. 3000 to 4999 = Rs. 30/-
2. Rs. 5000 to 7999 = Rs. 60/-
3. Rs. 8000 to 10999 = Rs. 100/-
4. Rs. 11000 to 14999 = Rs. 150/-
5. Rs 15000 and above = Rs. 200/-

I have a small doubt...
Do HR department deduct the Professional Tax from the salry of the employee or the Finance department do this?Which department is having the major responsibilitiy of PT?

Hi Sarita, H R dept have to deduct P T statement. Because it relates only to H R Dept.I T belongs to Finance dept. Regards, Ravi Kumar T 99640519065

Hi Friends,
Yes i aggreed with Mr. Reddy, current applicable slabs of PT is as follows:
1. Rs.0/- to 9999 = Nil
2. Rs.10000/- to 14999/- = Rs.150/-
3 Rs.15000/- and above = Rs.200/-
