Hi, This is Camellia. I am working as an Executive-Recruitment in a Singapore-based consulting firm. I have been in recruitment for the last 1.5 years. I have a BE in Computer Science and I am currently pursuing my PGDHRM from SCDL Pune.

I would be really thankful if someone could guide me regarding the career prospects in the recruitment field. I want to transition into HR training. What should be my duties to make this transition?

Regards, Camellia

I want to make a shift from recruitment to training. So, what is it that I should do to make the shift? The current organization I'm working in is completely focused on recruitments, so I don't see any scope of gaining experience in HR training. Kindly suggest.

Hi Camilia,

If you really want to make a shift from recruitment to training, you need to have the flair for training. Since you are into recruitment, you must have an idea of the requirements of the positions. Not all candidates have the skills desired by the recruiter.

Think it over and try to develop ideas to teach those skills. For example, soft skills like communication, leadership, attitude, and positive thinking. You may seek help from others experienced in training. Start approaching training providers to help you get a start. If you can understand what is desired and how it has to be delivered, you can be a successful trainer.

Hope this is helpful.
