my question is wht is the difference between Hiring and Recruitment
thanks
Avinash

hriring is this
A union-operated placement center where jobs from various employers are allotted to registered applicants according to a set order.and this hiring takes places internally
Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates for employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the ...company which any company or industry it may be a IT , ITES, BPO , KPO OR RETAIL , AIRLINE , BANKING ETCCCC :D :)

Hi!
Let us first understand what is recruitment;
Recruitment refers to the process of sourcing, screening, and selecting people for a job or vacancy within an organization. From posting the advertisement for a vacancy to collecting the appropriate Cv's or sometimes even taking interviews, it is a recruitment process.
The main purpose is to attract competent applicants to apply for agiven vacancy.
Hiring may be referred to as the end result i.e. the person is finally taken in the organization after the selection process.
So recruitment may be referred to as a pre-process of selection and hiring.
Cheers!
Shringarika

Dear Avinash,
From a practical HR perspective, both are same.
Do not go into semantics and allow yourself to be a victim of language entrapment. Leave it to the PHDs.
However, if there is a specific situation, please come again.
Regards,
Sunil Chandra

Selection is not the last step of recruitment. Selection in other words chosing the right person for the right job is mid step of the process Critical process. It ends at making an offer. Then you hire him when he joins
Siva

Hi I completely agree with Shringarika Hiring starts after u recruit a candidate     Mohanrao
hiiiii
recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating and encouraging them to apply for jobs in the organisation. it is a positive process because it encourages persons to apply so that the company has wider choice in selecting candidates. on the other hand hiring means when you hav decided to appoint a suitable candidate after going through the selection process :)

Difference between - Recruitment / Selection / Hiring
Example:
Recruitment - Looking for a mode of transport to reach destination - Mode of selection
Selection - Selecting particular mode of transport by evaluating the comfort and safety - Right Person for Right Job
Hiring – Agreement with the CAB (if mode of transport is a car) in terms of job & compensation - Mutual acceptance both employer and employee.
