Hello every one this is vedha. i am completing my masters in hr and currently in 1st semster. we have an assignment on job analysis. the question is: why it is important for a job analysis to be conducted? what are the negative outcomes that would result from not understanding the jobs of those reporting to the manager? consider any organisatioanl issues.basically i know what exactly job analysis is.the problem is i dont have any idea of the negative outcomes of not understanding job analysis and also how does it affect in an organisation. so please share your experince and view point.if you have face any kind of problem in your organization not understanding job analysis and any kind of organizational issues related to job analysis please revert to the mail. thanking you regards vedha
Difference between competency modelling and job analysis
Dear all it seems that there is no much difference in competency modelling and job analysis. despite all of the hype surrounding the practice of competency modeling in organizations it appears to be a form of workeroriented job analysis that focuses on broader characteristics of individuals and on using these characteristics to inform hr practices. as such it is inappropriate to proclaim that competency modeling is a replacement for job analysis because each approach has a different focus and the appropriateness of either methodology should depend on the purpose of the analysis. let me know your views please. regards manish

Hello all transaction analysis is undoubtedly one of the powerful od intervension techniques. but the analysis of transactions are done only when the transactions are complete i presume. if so how can transaction analysis be helpful to an individual. or is it that the transactions of a person are analysed and the person is subjected to some sort of behavioural training? how exacltly does this analysis of transactions help in developing the organization? please explain and share your experience in ta if any. sree
