It always depending upon the requirement that you have, I mean if you are working in US then PHR & SPHR is OK otherwise for Global HR Management Professional GPHR is good.
Hopes replied to your query.

Hi Khaiser
Thank you very much for taking an interest, I believe the course is definitely worthwhile and I am desperate to appear in this program, but a confusion as I just have 3 years of experience and eligibility for appearing in GPHR is to have 4-6 years of experience.
I am looking few HR folks who are interested to appear in any of the certification please come ahead and join the discussion. We can mutually make good preparation for the exam.
Please comment.

I have read it carefully and gone through their study materials too, this program is for professionals working in USA because, all subjects & topics covered in this course work / study materials are according to US standard and based on the laws followed in USA. Therefore, if someone is really want to work in USA as HR then only he can take PHR & SPHR otherwise if, someone want to work in India then he can go for ICFAI or Symbiosis or anyother institute offering Human Resources Management Certification according to Indian constitution and Indian Adopted Systems

GPHR is for people working for Multinationals and managing HR in more than one country and even here Europe and America were given more importance than other places because they're only targeting the HR professionals residing in USA and the rest of the world no and moreover nobody can make a global HR system because customs, constitution, practices and laws are completely different to eachother.

So don't get obsessed by just seeing the name; try to think its good and bads, uses and productivity; what anybody residing in India can do by learning the system of other countries where he is not even working or atleast not working immediately after completion of the course? It will be very difficult to memorize all the laws and moreover may be most them get changed from time to time.

Think wisely and decide about your future.

Wish you all the best. If you have any kind of educational materials then post it here or send it my E-mail

Hello all
Nice to see the discussion on PHR & SPHR.
Even I was planning to do this course.
As per the comments from others itís been tailor made for those working in US.
I did my MBA in HR, seven years back, presently working in UAE.
Can any one suggest me to do any course which can sharpen my HR skills?

Dear Lizancy,
I cannot say that because I am not aware with the system followed in Australia but in the course material of GPHR the Human Resources Certification Institute has covered almost all about the generally accepted practices throught the world. So just try to see their curriculum and take the course. You can visit them on

hi all
SPHR is the most ideal certification for Middle East as most of the MNCs do follow US or UK pattern in terms of management. What ever principles of management we follow in this part of world is more or less a derivation from post world war theories and concepts. Eitherwise, there is no harm in taking up a HR Management Course based on US or UK pattern. At the end of the day its your personal orientation towards the subject how you are going to handle your subject which is "People Management"
