Hello,
Talent management can be defined as the process to attract, develop and retain people with the aptitude and abilities to meet current and future organizational needs. Assessment of KSA (i.e., knowledge, skill and aptitude) of the person is important and initial stage of talent management. As a result of this many HR processes can be benefited and it leads to both individual development and organizational development.
Quite often, organizations adopting a TM approach will focus on coordinating and integrating:
• Recruitment - ensuring the right people are attracted and put into right places in the organization.
• Retention - developing and implementing practices that reward, motivate and support employees.
• Training/Development - ensuring continuous informal and formal learning and development by assessing training need analysis/gap analysis.
• Performance management - specific processes that nurture and support performance, including feedback/measurement and appraisals.
• Succession planning – planning promotions, transfers and enriching job responsibility and differentiating roles.
Hope this gives you a fair idea about the concept-talent management…..here’s some material for further clarification. You can also visit the links given in the attached material for in-depth knowledge.
