Hi Priya,
Have a gala time with Dance, music, singing programme or competition among your team members. Like make a group and let them have singing, music and dance competition. Have a Judge to judge them.
Believe me its FUN!!!

Hi Dear,
For to motivate your employees, As much as possible try to solve their Grievance in times. If you do so, automatically the employee gets job satisfaction. This is one kind of motivation.

Hi,
create a forum for fun activities. Invite people from the company to be part of the committee and have them organize games or sport activity in office. Or you can have a treasure hunt in office.

Hi All,
If you want to motivate your employees then firstly, they should get the feeling of belonging. However, this feels develops over the period.
Now answering your question – How can we increase the motivation of our employees by having fun activities?
Every MNC or a corporate company will celebrate their founder’s day or annual day, on that day you can divide teams like sales team, operation team, HR team ( you can also ask them to name their team) if you can mix team within the organization like HR and Production team, ADMIN and Finance, give them one common theme like corporate set, slum setup, pub culture etc, so that they can work on that theme and decorate their cubicle. You can nominate one of your top heads to come over and have a look around at each cubicle and nominate the winner.
If you find this activity useful then I will try sending more such activities.
All the best,
Regards

Hi Everybody,
For all kind of entertainment we can create in our company, and definitely
it will give good as well as positive results. We have to allot
one day in a year called as "Company Day". In that day,
All the family members of the employee should participate in the
wonderful event, it will make them pleasure and as well as we have prove
them that there is no partiality between management employees and
workers.
And other thing, once if there is Family function or bad incidents happened
in an employee's house, one of the Management representative has to go
and participate. This will create a good atmosphere and good relationship
Try this one.. you will realise..

Other events, which would need little harmonization, many MNC companies are stepping into social activities and social services, off late in Chennai we had a event but unfortunately this event was held by some foreign origin students, who came down to Chennai took themselves to the streets and slums and did a lot of cleaning up stuff – when I heard about this events I didn’t feel very good.

We are from the HR community, we shouldn’t restrict ourselves within four walls, we can organize events, where we can call students who are underprivileged, physically challenged students, we can spend few hours in a week to train some survival skills like spoken English, tally, computer skills (MS office), and to perform the above activity we don’t need any management support.

I guess that would give us different dimension in experiencing life.

Normally, when I speak to HR guys from different industry I see that being a HR person , they find 100’s of reason to reject a guys like (poor communication skills, longevity, attitude.,.,) but I guess HR means you should find 100’s of reason to say why can’t I select a guys , Understanding the fact that HR people have to work under immense pressure and tight schedule’s, I understand things like this would be too much to ask - - - that’s why HR people are respected across any industry.

Hi All,

Besides what ever has been shared earlier in the form more of cultural events, for motivation and retention you can frame policies viz.

1. Employee referral scheme - for recruitments

2. Employees value added higher education scheme -

3. Incentive schemes -

4. Suggestion Schemes -

5. In house interactive training sessions comprising of new learnings, presentations, management games, quiz etc,

6. Celebrate employee's birthday, employee's marriage anniversary and give them a gift/dinner coupon / movie tickets, etc together with a complimentary half day leave/2 hrs. short leave to enjoy the day with family.

7. A token sum to an employee on his/her marriage.

8. Recognition to outstanding achievement of employee's child talent (various activities viz. GK, Art, Scientific models, Games and Sports, etc.),

9. Organising Healthy baby show by conducting competitions (age group wise), spouse's dish cooking competition, and more activities involving families of employees regardless of levels.

10. Develop scheme to support the outstanding children of your employees in attaining higher/professional education with an aim to absorb them in your Company.

But all depends on the outlook of your top management.

These are some of the tested and tried ways and means.

I have formalised some of the schemes already in place.

Thanx
