Hi everyone,
Do you have a Training Manual?
Now I am working on this and trying to match core competencies with related training programs.
This manual will also show required training programs according to organizational levels.
Finally I will put core functional trainings in it.
At the end, the manual will cover all our training needs.
Do you have a tool like this? I could you please share?
Many thanks...

Hi, this is something I'm going to try putting together, so I'd be very interested in how this develops. I'm toying with the idea of incorporating a "training log" so a record can be kept of any on the job or other type of development or learning. So can I also ask, has anyone got any templates ideas etc.
Thanks

To really get this started.... why don't we see if we can find some common ground of what we think should be in a training manual. Again if there is anyone with more experience than me (should be a lot of you) who has some experience of this how about giving us your list - and perhaps just as important the reason for its inclusion. In case your wondering, I'm holding back slightly here as I feel my idea may be more based on the training side rather than the policy side so I do want to confuse the issue too much before its started.

Hi,
The training manual talked about will be really helpful for several un-organised sector to develop a competent team where we lack it. Change is the only constant and we have to make our team members adoptable to the changes by rendering training to achieve the mission, vision, target and goal of the organisation as well as of their personal life also. This will be a beneficial tool for growth of the organisation.
Please go ahead with your mission. :D

Okay then everyone, Where to start?
The beginning I guess, which for me is with my Training Needs Analysis (TNA) that I've just distributed to our 150 employees who work in teams of 4-6 with a team leader from Scotland to Cornwall (not quite Lands End to John O Groats). This is obviously specific to my organisation but I'm sure others could easily adapt it to suit. I have had these all returned now and have produced the first draft of my TNA report. I won't post that here this time as I'd like to see what the feedback is from the TNA - so if you've got any relevant and constructive points please feel free to post them.

Not been much traffic regarding the Training Manual. I note that my TNA has been downloaded over 50 times - any comments?

Areas that I would think twice about regarding the TNA are;

a. Better instructions for Part A. Some employees scored each and every subject line out of 10.

b. Better consultation with employees before distributing TNA, some were very suspicous and didnt IMHO apply a true score incase it was looked at from the wrong angle.

c. Choice of words in Part C could be improved many thought "No Preference" was same as "Don't Mind" and therefore scored it wrongly. Maybe a "ike, Don't Care, Dislike" range would have been better.

d. Part D - Wow, free forum for all their winges and moans. Good to read but very time consuming.

e. Finally, a system or method of being able to extract the score etc to automatically give me the results. I had to do it all by hand.

If anyone has any other observations please comment and if anyone knows of a way to improve on my comments I'd be really glad to hear them especially regarding automation of results.

Incidentally, the report has been made with the findings and I will publish this next time, the results were very interesting.[/list]
