You may prepare a PPT for the induction with the following points.
Introduction to the company.
Hirearchy and Divisons of the company.
The Timelines of the company ( Each year with achievements and growth)
Introduction to Promotors and owners of the company
Vision, Values, Mission Statement, Goals of the company.
HR Policy Overview.
Joining formalities, Exit Formailites, Performance appraisal systems ( Overview of all)
Disciplinary codes, Non Diclosure and Conflict of Interest.

I manage the IT department and have been asked to do one for just that department!!!
Appreciate any help possible as to what topics can be covered in IT area.

An induction program for just the IT department will ideally cover about a general induction of the department which relates to the technology and tools used by the department and any products and applications they have developed and are in the process . This should be a brief one and specific.
The other main topics are related to Information security and Quality Management systems followed in the company.
You will need to take the help of the IT technical head or lead who has been working in the company for a considerable amount of time. HE/She may be able to give indepth information about the progess and plans/strategies of the department and the aims and goals with which the department funcitons.
