Hi,
If u stopping the promotion for just because of degree, this is kind of demotivation. The employee will get irritate and he could not able to concentrate on his job. More over for the employer degree is secondary; skill, honesty, sincerity, experience are mandatory. so my sincere advice is to dont stop promotion.
With Warm Regards

Star Performers have to be rewarded. Motivation has to be there for any extraordinary performance by an employee in terms of promotion, perks, or monetary benefit. We can not draw a hardline of having a degree and then promotion. i have seen people rising from a clerical level to the position of VP's, and directors of the Company due to their hardwork, innovations and performance. Don't discourage him/her and let others also get inspiration out of his/her performance for others also to perform still better. Yes, still you can motivate that person to attain higher qualifications to enhance the capabilities knowledge and skills within him/her.
Thanks

Hi!
For any position in a company, there is a minimum requisite qualification.
If this person is given a promotion only if he has a graduation degree, then
he should not accept this offer now. I think he should try to complete his graduation and then seek an appraisal. This will entitle him for further promotions as well since, this man is a consistent performer.
Thanks,
Deepa.

yes....he might be eligible for promotion, he can be promoted with his past performance also.but their are some companies who sees experience along with qualification for the specified post. hence he can or might be asked to go for further required education giving probation period or might not be eligible for that post......

Hi,
If an employee is taken in the company, then they must have been informed that the person is yet to become a graduate.
If the performance of the associate is good, then they can extend the Probation period for a particular period.
and ensure that he clears the exams in the next attempt, Else, he/she wil be asked to leave.
I have seen once such case in my company, hence the mention
REgards,

Just to share working trend in industry:
1. Qualification is required to technical/ highly skilled job.
2. Graduation is a standards for appointment for certain jobs which can we waived by appoining authority.
3. star performer can be promoted to higher post without qualification.
4. I don't think any HR person- object for promotion.
5. If any person wants to complete hios/her graduation an organisation is duty bound to assist him/her for completion which help organisation in long term.

There will be few facts we needed to understand first.
The type of industry the employee is working and the job profile he is been promoted into.
If his recent performance shows that he has done excellent job and he has the caliber to undertake the next level job then his non completion of graduation should not be a reason to stop his growth.
Company policy are made only with the purpose to see right practices are happening in a company and the employee resource are placed in the most appropriate role at right time in order to get the best result out of them. If a policy may effect an employees moral then it should be changed in such circumstances.

Hi All
Thanx alot 4 the replies indeed they have been a morale booster.
just to give a clear image of the above queries
he is working for a private bank and deals with the investments for the corporate and the HNI his main work is to acquire new clients for the relationship manager currently is working as a management trainee and has achieved the year target in just 7 months..
he will now be promoted as the aquisition manager who has the same profile like the current position its just that he will now be on rolls of the company..
Also if someone has gone thru this stage or a proffessional HR can throw some light on this, it would really be appreciated.
