Dear All Seniors, Let me introduce myself first - Shrishti i.e. my name. I have done MBA-HR not from such a reputed Management Institute, from Ghaziaad previous year.

Soon after my Completion of the course I got an opportunity to work with a Executive Search Company. I worked there for 3 months and left in the middle (in the month of sept 07) due to some family problems.

Then again I started searching for a job from Oct.07 ant in the end of the month (31th Oct.) I finally got an offer from One of India's Leading Private Insurance Company as HR Support Officer,Recruitment. I there had to work under as well as report to the Regional HR Manager.

But the constraint was that this was an OFF ROLL job with only 7200 p.m. Salary package.

I had to accept the offer because of some serious family as well as some financial Problems.

It is my 3rd month of working there as if now.

One more important point I want to make is that I am very much satisfied with my job and work profile. There is also no such work pressure. My Boss is also very mannered, well behaved and very friendly person. Its been a great experience working with him. I truly learnt a lot from him.

But the thing is, because of some more worse situation it is becoming difficult for me to survive in a Metropolitian City with only Rs 7200 in hand. I m suffering from severe financial crises and I am in a position that i even can't ask for Help to anybody.

I dont know what to do.

If i think to change or shift to any other job then it will badly effect my career and future.

My Resume will show the INSTABILITY i.e. two shifts in a year. First Impression will get down.

And with my current salary it is difficult to make my bread and butter.

I am very much depressed. I have some responsibilities to fulfil plus I have to repay my Loan Amount Which I took for my MBA course. Its repayment has to start from this year alSO.

I sometimes in severe depression think to take some extreme step but then my inner voice says- "NO, this is not to be done. God is there to help me anyways". i just keep telling these things to myself

I really dont know what to write more

Plzzzzz U all Seniors, Help me out of this situation. Show me the direction and right path to move ahead. PLZ suggest me some ways or options which i could opt in this difficult situation. Should i change my present job and look for another or anything else u can suggest. plz answer.

I am keenly waiting for responses from YOU People.

Dear Shristi,
If u r doing well in your present profile and had a gud repo with your immidiate boss, then talk to him frankly about the whole situation. If they have any policy they may take you on roll with higher pay and position.
Second thing you can do is start taking tuitions or any lecturer job on saturdays or sundays in any management college. There are many small management colleges which incourage and gives an opportunity to the management graduates to take lectures on specific days bcoz they cannot afford to bring experienced faculties for part time students. They may pay you per lecture basis.
Try both the options, hope this will help. And dont think of taking any extreme steps, be postive, work hard, every thing will get settled soon.

First of all congratulations for getting an opportunity work with your present company and welcome to CITE HR.
As you have well explained you have only issue with your current salary and rest everything is ok with you. As far as my opinion is concerned you should stick to your current job for at least 6 months and then speak to your superiors regarding the salary issue. Then make them understand your condition and i believe they will definitely look into this issue. And please don't loose your confidence and always take pride on your job.
in Future being an HR guy you are required to negotiate salary of number of guys.So please don't be frustrated and keep going...
All the best.

Dear Shrishti
There is nothing wrong in switching over if you get a better offer. None will look at it as instability as you are yet get into a stable job.
Many keep working for small companies, and on contract basis and they may have to switch over three to four times till they get a reasonable foothold.
Try for a good change If you get join immediately if the salary is more than 10K If it is same or just 8000 to 9000 then stay where you are and continue your search
Dont get depressed. Depression will not help you to climb up
You seem to be having all good qualities. Only one observation I would like to make....You seem to be lacking in self esteem.
Dont ever say I come from a small institute or I have too many financial problems. Belief in yourself will make you succeed
Believe ..... you can do it
Believe ....... you can win
Believe......... you are capable
Believe are the best
With best wishes

College you studied is important for entering a first job.But it is not at all relevant for those with one or more years of experience.
My same as Mr.sivasankaran.Unless there is a jump of thirty percent ,do not change.
May be you can augment your compensation-with approval from your boss-by teaching BBA/MBA ASPIRANTS on Sundays. You can even try your old college for teaching first semester students-OB /HRM/PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT.This teaching on sundays(also saturdays if they are holidays for your company) will not only give some extra xash but also help you acquire additional knowledge.
