Hello Deepti,
Thanks for the suggestion. But can u suggest any other job for him that particular location, i mean, Mysore or Banglore.
Can't we do anything against these types of behavior from these tycoons, the only solutions is to either do what they are saying our quit.

Hi
Deepali,i think your friend should take support of media. And your friend is not agaianst HR head or Role model CEO,he is against system........
And all people who came across this case need to learn from this.
Well this is advisable ,that your friend should search for a new job for himself in some other company.
And after six months discolse this case in front of media...
Take a step ahead to change system not people.

Dear Friends,
There are a lot of such instances where a lot of aspirants get washed away in the waves of politics or are humbled by 'THE POWER'.
We as HR fraternity can make a difference in our workplaces. I am reminded of an inspiring story. Let us make a difference in some one's life / career...
Thanks,

Hello Deepali,
i am Vishwa Sehgal the head human resources of an international BPO.
First of all sorry for your friend, Let me give you the insight of the situation, Your friend who got hired as Associate engineer and the role was of programming. After realizing the fact by the managers and other seniors that your friend would not really match there expectation they referred his name to the different line of operations and some tried to demotivate him so that he would succumb to the emotional distress and would leave the organization; This is called intentional distress caused in case the seniors dont want him.
My honest suggestion to your friend is that he shall start looking for an opportunity elsewhere and find a company nonetheless big or small but shall have good working environment and stability.
You take care

Hi Friends,

Thanks for the suggestions.

He has a word with HR department, his superiors, but no results.

Media is not a solution, it will only create a point of gossip and media after taking money will vanish the story, like it was never there. the sufferer will be my friend. No one else. Quiting is also, not a good solution.

Here is what I want him to do. Please put your suggestions, as if will this work.

He has the capability as in his last company, he was working as a programmer. I want him to do what the company is saying, i.e. to sit on calling seat in tech support. Let him work hard, let him put all his efforts, Prove yourself, take your superior into confidence.

Apply for IJP, Give your test and then get into programming line.

Nothing is impossible in this world. If in the beginning of his carrier, he will start running from situations (which is ultimately not a solution), can stop his growth. Let him learn how to fight, let him learn, how what is success

As per me, a person, who doesnot face problems, doesnot know the real meaning of success.

And i know he can do.

Please put your suggestions.

Regards,

Deepali

Dear Ms Gulati

If this is a true case that has happened to a person employed by a company which is the dream company for many of us,then it is quite unfortunate

I would just like to share the little bit of experience I have in HR.Sometime back I was into IT recruitments and I used to source candidates for the BPO wing of one of the TOP IT companies .They also used to recruit people from the programming field for tech support -level1 and they were given an offer letter similar to this with the designation given as "Executive engineer".But during their Interview rounds and even when I used to talk to them I used to make it very clear that this is a 24*7 on call support role

I am surprised to hear from you that they have offered him a role of Associate Engineer-Programmer.If this is true then I beg to differ from you when you say you have asked your friend to concentrate in his current role.Is it so easy to forget an injustice that has been made to you and concentrate on a job role that you are not interested in ?My advice to him is please go ahead and look for some other job in the same city or may be in Bangalore, learn programming as much as you can ,that company is not the end of the world ,you will find a better job than this .I know it is easier said than done but give it a try!

While you resign from this company put it on papers and on mail as to why you have resigned from the company.

These are my personal opinions and I do not intend to challenge any views on the same

Thanks and Regards

Indrani Chakraborty

Ask him to drop his cv at ,I will see if my recruiter friends can help him out

Hi Deepali,
Of course there are lots of companies in Bangalore wherein you get a good software exposure and not just the TAG.
Yes, dealing with the present problem,
1. Escalate the issue in writing to the higher supervisor, they accpet it or not it is a different issue. Every issue at least to 90% can be sorted out if you can substantiate your point with evidence.
2. Take it to the media, so that they don't make the candidates a scapegoat for their prospects.
* The point 2 : has to be dealt with diplomaticaly and shrewdly since it could also be a fullstop for his/her entry to other companies.

Hello, Yes, its a true situation, but resignation is not a solution. I want him to give a lesson to the HR department by staying in the company. Deepali

You are stuck with the statement that he should not quit.
As all have been suggesting..pls tell him to continue working at the same time let him search for better prospectus. He has a proof that he has been hired as a programmer but made to work on support dept. So he has a valid reason to leave.
Spread this injustice thru word of mouth if not media. Tell every one you know abt Infosys & the name of his seniors.
Why should we put our life's decision on may or may not happen situations.
Let him to accept the fact & move on & act diplomatically. And start searching.
All the best
Regards,
Asha

I think he should go to his senior, send a mail to his HR. Talk to senior out of the department. Good luck Biswadeep
