Deepali, is this the actual case or an imagined case?
If he have the job-description that has been given to him; and If he have the offer letter describing his role...he can first approach the concerned HR Head of the SBU and then the HR Head of the Company. There is no reason by his case cannot be heard and resolved.
Infosys cannot do such blunders. They did one such blunder some 5-6 years back when they delayed the joining of some 15 people selected through campus hiring and they paid huge price for that. One VP of the company was charged with the case of sexual harassment and he was fired. So, the company is having good values, processes and procedures...if there is some miscommunication or issue, it will get resolved. But, the very basic principle to get it resolved is that your friend should have documented proof stating that he was promised something and is given something else.
Without proofs, even court cannot help. I hope this makes some sense to you.

Sanjeev,
This is a true Case Happening in Infosys. I don't have waste of time to discuss imaginable cases.
Apart of it the latest news is HR head has refused that they have committed anything like this as the technical support level 1 person are also called as executive engineer.
Even Narayanan Murthy has refused to listen to them.
All 5 have requested to take a technical test and then decide, they even refused to do so.
A bulnder like this is never expected from a company like Infosys.

When they have already spoken to HR Head and also Narayanan Murthy, without any success, then the best way is to call for media conference or to reach them. Any news channel will happily take their story and air it through the channel. They will be more than willing to help your friend and his friends as well.

Hi
I feel this unprofessionalism should be put into notice of the HR Department and if this doesn't work inform the higher authorities!! In case even this doesn't work, contact the Role Model CEO!!

Dear Deepali,
Another reason Could be that the facility at mysore is planned to accommodate 5000 software professionals, but the project is yet to be completed. The people are already recruited. Some of them have no seats and they are being paid salaries for 2 months having nothing to do.
The project is delayed due to want of cement. But a giant player like this should have a crisis plan in place.

Hello Anjan, Its not a matter of 2 months, they have clearly told them that you can never get into programming department in our co. Sanjeev, Going to media is not a good solution.

Hi,
Understood which Company you are talking about. Yes Depalli, as for the past 4 to 5 months there has not been in 2 most highlighted IT companies. So what they seem to do is, for the candidates already taken, they seem either put them on bench or put them into nonassociated profiles.
What I suggest is, rather than getting demotivated and let down, since this what will be the state for another 3 months or so; tell your friend resign and look for better prospects in terms of carrier growth rather than the Tag of a Big Company.

Deepali, what is your suggestion? How do you think, this can be resolved? Every problem has its solution and this one is not unique. You said that they have tried unsuccessfully to contact the Narayan Murthy and the HR-Head (though they made the attempt) and they do not want to go to media. No one is listening to them. So, what do you think, they should do to solve this situation.
It is related to career and professional growth hence, resignation would be the last suggestion.
Looking forward to know your perception, your ideas, your thoughts and views to solve this case.
Thanks and Regards

hi deepali,
first of all what your friend is going through is really a tough time because this can really affect his personality a s a whole.
well in a such a case what your friend can do is talk to the HR manager of the comapny.
or else he cabn just spot a few good people in his workplace and take their support.
its right that what your seniors say you cant deny that nor you can do something which you are not suupose to do. but in this case your friend has just joined the company and showing resisatance to work wont do any good to him.
instead talking to his peers who are good enough can help him emotinally. this will also help him to create his place in the organisation.
well i can just suggest this much . hope it works atleast fo rsome good for your friend.. take care... :) bye
