Dear Members,

I have done a specialized course in HR its called Masters in Psy Human resource Developement and Management, and now i want to do something in strategic managment focusing on Mergers and acquisitions (M & A) from HR perspective. I want to specialise in this so that i can later do a job in consultancy with this specilisation. and in this regard a friend of mine adviced me that i should do a course in CS (Company Secretariat) or CA (Charted Accountant) as it'll help me in my long term objective. Since M & A require the knowledge of legal as well as financial matter and as its said that HR people should me Jack of all the fields and master of one i.e. their own field. SO i have been thinking of doing this course. Can any one please advice whether doing a CS or CA course will help in my long term career plan of M & A or not? (as i'm not at all interested in going into accountancy or any other line)

i'm very confused and the last date for enrolement in these courses r nearing.

so please help me and advice whether it'll be helpful or not.

Also, if not this, then can u kindly advice me any other course or degree which i should do, which will help me in my future plans

CA's play a very vital role in Mergers and Aquisition
normally the HR comes in play when the M&A decision has already been taken and in most cases when actual M&A has taken place..
Normally the issues than have to be handled by the current HR executives of both the firms...
But as M&A are occuring more often, I believe that there is a great scope for doing individual consultancy in this field... But for gaining some assignments you need to have some experience of handling such issues.. So I would suggest that you pick up some assignments or research work (PhD level) in some good MNC where Mergers have taken place in recent past or are in the process of merger...
Doing CA would be an added benefit... but not essential to your objective and you can keep that option open for future...

Please give details about the issues and need of research in par with employee and employer issues, what are the issues will be there in part of the employee retaining to the employer and job security, role , retension, training need promotion , increment and other major issues relation with the employee
