Hey Imran,
a quick question, i read the mini tutorial, based on tht i wanted to knoe even before green there is yellow belt for six sigma, is that important and must to take, as per my knowledge it is just introduction, and what about green belt, is it neccessary to take the green belt ,qualify and then only work on Black Belt six sigma...? do let me know
also could you tell me the benefits individually and a company as a whole can receive from taking this course?
i know Motorolla gives this training and few more in dxb but from which company to take this training also does matter?
hmm ...loads of questions, hope you can answer all :)
Thanks Paru :?

First thing Yellow belt, green belt and black belt are the various certifications available. to elaborate :

Yellow Belt : basic tools pertaining to problem solving like Seven QC tools are covered. these are basically for entry level.

Gren belt : problem solving and more of project management. it also covers some analysis tools but to be frank not very statistical.

Black belt : an advance stage with a combination of Project management, advance tools for control and analysis.

There is nothing mandatory that you need to be a green belt before u go for black belt. u can but u need to have a statistical background for it.

Now ur second question:

All these are steps towards graduall learning of the concept. If we work on an individual level then this thing may not help the organization. U should have a pool of experts in an organization to encash the benifit. like some black belts who monitor green belts and green belts who with the help of yellow belts execute projects. Black belts apart from mentoring should also undertake projects with high financial impacts.

I think for training there are tons of sources available. more than training look for someone who can handhold u for the projects.

For further queries do write back

Human Sigma
The benefits of implementing a Six Sigma quality improvement program have been gaining recognition for years. Only recently, however, has the quality metric been extended to the human side of business.
Born out of research conducted on over 80,000 managers in more than 400 companies by Gallup, the approach emphasizes the often overlooked importance of the engagement levels of employees and customers in achieving a better bottom line. The Human Sigma approach takes such knowledge about individuals in the work environment and applies it to create a more productive and consistent workforce.

Human Sigma is a measure that focuses on reducing variance in key employee and customer outcomes by improving an organization's human performance and moving it towards excellence. Simply put, the human sigma approach shows how to manage - and maximise - the human difference.
