Hi sir,

I know the daily wages of the trade union workers who are not allowed to eat during lunch hours, which is nearly at 1:30 PM in the afternoon. They are forced to work on the set of a film or serial shoot so that the particular shot could be completed and the scene could be over on time. This leads to the workers sometimes not getting a break, and it may take until 3 PM or 4 PM to have lunch, but no one cares about that. This situation is continuously happening in many shooting locations where workers are not allowed to have their lunch on time. Yes, lunch is provided by the company, but they are not allowed to eat it on time.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the working conditions you've described. It's important to know that employees have rights, and there are labor laws in place to protect these rights. Here are some steps you can take:

1. 🔊 Know Your Rights: According to the Factories Act 1948, which is applicable to India, no adult worker shall be required or allowed to work in a factory for more than five hours before he has had an interval for rest of at least half an hour. This means if you start your work at 8:30 AM, you should be allowed a break for lunch at 1:30 PM.

2. 💁‍♂️ Discuss with Union: As a member of a trade union, bring this issue to the attention of your union leaders. They can take this matter up with the management on behalf of all workers.

3. ✍️ Document Your Experience: Keep a record of instances where you were not allowed a lunch break. This could be useful evidence if you need to take this matter further.

4. 🈯 Report to Authorities: If the issue persists and management or your union is not taking appropriate action, you can report this to the local labor department or other relevant authorities.

5. 💃 Seek Legal Advice: If all else fails, you might want to consider seeking legal advice. Labor lawyers can guide you on your rights and the best course of action.

Remember, it's important to maintain open communication with your employer about your concerns. Hopefully, these steps will help you to resolve this issue.
