Sir, I am a 65 year old retired railway employee and a company wants to hire me but I do not want to get puff and pension cut, what is the provision for this?

If your salary per month is above Rs 15000, then you will not be covered by EPF. But you will be covered by ESI. At the same time, if your agreed salary is more than Rs 21000, then you will be excluded from ESI also. If your salary is less than Rs 15000, you will have to be covered by EPF. The fact that you are in receipt of Pension from the Railways will not be considered for coverage of EPF. Only thing is that the employer will not be contributing to Pension Fund of the EPF but he will contribute the same 12% fully to your PF account along with your contribution of 12%.

Getting salary from a private establishment will no way reduce your pension from the Railways. Whatever you are getting from the Railways is the right conferred to you following your service in the Railways. It is actually a continuation of your service. It will not be stopped or reduced because of receipt of any other social security.
