Hi Friends,
I must confess the fact that I am guilty of falling in love with this site & the lovely people who make it so invaluable.
Every time I am in need of any help, I turn to this forum. :D :D :D
So now, since I have taken admission to the ISTD Diploma course in T & D in January 2008 batch, I need some guidance regarding how to go about it, how the course is, which books to read, how to prepare for the semesters etc.
I have so many questions in my mind for which I need some expert help.
:? :? :? :?
Warm Regards

Hi Arabinda,
Thankx for the tip. However, I have already surfed that site.
So, what I am looking for now is a perspective from a person who has already done this course.
Besides, if I am correct, then perhaps you are an Oriya.

Hello dears,
The courses offered by ISTD is very good & informative and provide sharp knowledge related to OB, OD & procedures of T&D. It is a specialized course in T&D. Also ISTD help for employment. You all can choose this course. It is worthy for HR professionals.

hi Sush,
As far as my view is concerned self awareness & self developement is the most suitable way for growth. ISTD course is not a tough one. You just go through the syllabus & prepare as ur level best. Hope u hav no. of books & materials on T & D, OB during ur MBA/MHRM study, if not then u can buy it from the market which r easily available. Most courses have already covered during ur HR study. I can help u on T & D as I'm currently looking after the same for my orgainzation i.e how to handle T & D activities in an org.
This is only my sugestion to you.
All the best
Thanks & Reagrds

Thanks Arabinda. :) :) I might need some books or at least some references for T&D part of this course as I have somehow misplaced all my MBA & HR books. :P :P Regards Sush

Dear Sush
I jus saw your mail asking about the ISTD course.Let me put it to you frankly....I did my ISTD course in 2003. I found that it was just another course for the sake of a Govt. Recogn.
The contents were not in depth, there were no contact classes. You just need to do some Q & A and send it.
Since I have done my M.Ed. I found this was jus a few leaves out of it.
Some of the notes are so badly done [syntax, grammar etc.]
I have not come across any good course in India [ if anybody has some clue please inform]
If you have time go thru the 'Training Journal' found in British Council Library, they give you some real good inputs what a training course should offer and what its end product will be.
Well if you want another Dip T.D. at the end of your name go ahead.

Hi Lisa,
It was really nice of you to share your experience with me.
Now atleast I now where the pitfalls are.
Any way since I have already taken the admission , I think now all of it depends on me how & what I make out of it.
So wish me luck.
