Dear Sir, Could you plz guide me that standing order applicability only depends on Permanent employee/on roll? The act applies to all shops and establishments in Haryana state, provided that they have employed 50 or more workers in the past 12 months. 50 employee only include on roll or contractual employee also ?

For coverage of the Act, let it be ESI Act, EPF & MP Act, Maternity Benefits Act or Standing Order act, the entire employees, whether on direct rolls or through contractors will be considered. Therefore, if the threshold limit is 50 for coverage of the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, it shall include contract workers also but the provisions relating to service conditions etc will be applicable only to the workers on direct rolls only.
