Does Gross income for the purpose of Professional tax includes variable payments like OT, Shift allowance, bonus etc.
For Example - if fixed gross is 12000 and OT is 3000 per month - should I consider 15000X6 = 90000 or 12000 X6 = 72000 as six months income

Is there any definition of wages for the purpose of professional tax in the statute?

For the purpose of calculating profession tax you have to take the entire revenue, whether byway of salary, fees or other allowances. in the case of employees, naturally, the gross salary is projected to six months and if in that six months if the employee is expected to get bonus that should also be included. However, overtime being a variable amount, may be excluded since the amount of overtime wages cannot be predetermined.
