Employee is under a two-year Contract (Sign on Letterhead), and he wishes to resign in the middle of the period. Because of an emergency, he got his Service Bonus in the 12th month of his service, but he won't actually get it until the 18th month. Now he requests a letter of Relieving and experience, as well as his current month's salary. According to his statement, he will serve a three-month notice period as a permanent employee. Need input from everyone on this.

A service bond is valid only if you have provided specific training and the cost of the training is recoverable if the person leaves before the expiry of the period. It does not actually stop the employee from leaving but gives the company right to recover the specified training cost.

However, most companies will refuse to accept the resignation, and will not give the salary or relieving / experience letter.
However, having an employee who knows you are going to refuse to cooperate is not someone who should be working for another 3 months in your organisation as he can (and probably will) create a problem for you.
