Girish

I am not able to understand your question.
Could you please explain it clearly?

Minimum wages is notified by the state government from time to time and has nothing to do with whether the person is an fixed term employee or a permanent employee

Dear Girish,

Statutory minimum rates of wages are fixed employment wise based on the parameters of decent subsistence of the employee and his family so as to enable him physically and mentally to keep up the efficiency required for any work he undertakes. Therefore, fixation of minimum wages does not take into account classification of employees such as temporary, trainee, casual, permanent or contract based.

Coming to your query, as more experience in any job would naturally enhance the efficiency level of the employee, it cuts down the cost of constant supervision, increases the quality of output and thus ensures indirect benefits of the operations of the establishment in all possible respects.. Therefore, a higher start would automatically attract more experienced new employees and ensure their long stay in the organization irrespective of their nature of appointment whether regular or fixed term contract basis. Hence it is a matter to be decided on individual basis.

Other than what Mr. Umakanthan M has been mentioned, I would like to add the following :-

1. For a fresher on fixed term contract basis to my opinion it should be appox 80% of 25k if the employee do the similar nature of job i.e 20k as the base line of 15k which was 5 years before obviously has been escalated.

2. For experience candidate by negotiation.
