Dear team

looking for your suggestion

an employee joined an organization dated on 01.12.2021, while issuing the offer letter we mentioned that he was in a probationary period for 6 months from the date of joining,

now the question is this 6 months probationary period, do we need to deduct PF & ESIC contributions or not ????

otherwise, we may make a deduction of PF & ESIC contributions after 6 months probationary period

kindly advise us

If your establishment is covered under PF & ESI Acts, you need to deduct employees' share of contributions towards ESI & PF, and remit to authorities from the day one of his employment with
your company.

Probation period, extension of probation or confirmation - these are internal for the organization. But statutory obligation is different.

Hi,

PF ESIC are statutory and compulsorily it need to be deducted from date of joining irrespective of Probationary period or extended probationary period. Even for one day if the employee worked PF & ESIC is compulsary.
