As per the previous practices, only from his last employer the ESI number could be traced. Can also be tracked from the ESI Local office where he was attached earlier.
However as per the new practices,while initiating ESI number, the portal 'Employees (Universal Account Number) UAN seeding' entry is required /added. When ESI number taken linking with UAN number, the same can be tracked.
