Dear Colleague,
Yes, you need to remit the fee for getting License under Contract Labour Act in Tamil Nadu. As per date of 2018 the fee structure is as below. However you may check with your Licensing Officer for updated fee if any. Attaching the GO of 2018 also for your reference.

As per GO 21/2/2018 :
The fees to be paid for the grant or renewal of a license under section 12 shall be as specified below, namely-
If the number of workmen employed by the contractor on any day,-
(a) does not exceed 50; Rs. 2,500
(b) exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100; Rs. 5,000
(c) exceeds 100 but does not exceed 200; Rs. 10,000
(d) exceeds 200. Rs. 20,000

Besides the above fees there is a security deposit prescribed. Shall be deposited for each of the workman employed as contract labour by the local state government.
