Some 20-25 years ago, a new trend of celebrating various days started. So we have fathers day, mothers day, friendship day and so on. Without these days, not that the love and affection toward father, mother or friend was less. Nevertheless, the celebration of the days has given explicitness to the expression. Easy access and the reach to social media also give publicity to these events.

It appears that "Gratitude Day" has been added to the list. You may click on the hyperlink to know how the gratitude day is being celebrated. You may tell the employees to look back and find out who helped them in the last year. They can express their thankfulness to someone who has helped them officially or personally. In the routine hustle-bustle of office activities, one may not be able to express gratitude. An exclusive day may give them the opportunity to do so.

However, after celebrating a day, what happens on other 364 days is also important. Overall, improvement in the work environment in the company is important. The employees should feel a sense of comfort or a sense of belonging while working. Otherwise, once a formal expression of gratitude is over, things should not descend. Taking precautions on these counts is far more important than celebrating the "Gratitude Day" itself.
