In case the operation of Fork Lift Machine is confined to your premises (that means no public place) then license is not required. Any trained person can operate.

As per IS*** norms, you need a heavy vehicle license to drive a forklift.
Since the IS regulations are only a guidelines, it now depends on whether your company is implemented them or not. As such, no license is required within a private premise. However, if there is a fatal accident, police officer may look at your license and hold you guilty of negligence if you do not have a valid license or proper training
