Dear Pranav,

When the monthly salaries and wages are disbursed, companies are required to issue a payslip for that month. In the payslip, a breakup of the amount is given. Have you been issued with the payslip? If yes, then does the amount shown on the payslip match the amount transferred to your bank account?

If the company has not issued the payslip, then compare the amount credited to your bank account with the preceding few months' salaries. In general, what is the percentage of the shortfall?

You may seek clarification from the HR department. Write a polite email to HR seeking clarification. Let us see what reply they give.

Thanks,

Dear Pranav,

As you have mention that you have not received your full salary . It may same deduction for P.F & ESI and for any leave you have taken,Since you are newly joined employee and you have no leave in credit. But all this can be cleared by your HR department. You can also discuss with co-employees how much they have received. You can intimate your senior regarding this,I think he may also help regarding this.

Thanks

Dear Pranav,

You have two options. One is to take in your stride the salary given by the company and move on. The current market situation is completely bad. There is a slump in demand and running a business enterprise has become very difficult. Against this backdrop, if you cooperate with your employer, then you might get rewards for your cooperation in future. However, this is a pure gamble.

The second option is to take on your employer. The sooner lockdown is lifted in your area, you can approach the labour officer of your area. Please note that I am suggesting you approach the labour officers and labour lawyer. You need to go to the labour office personally and explain your problem. Carry with you evidence of your employment like an appointment letter, identity card etc. The labour officer might tell you to put up a proper application. On the strength of your application, he might take further action. This service is free of cost and you do not have to make any legitimate payments. However, to avail of this option, you need to ensure that you do not come under the supervisory category i.e., no junior should report to you.

While availing of the second option may appear easy, it is fraught with risk also. Your employer could be incensed for approaching the labour office and he could terminate your services for some or other reason. Therefore, please think about whether you wish to take this risk.

Thanks,
