Hi,

Retirement is a special moment in everyone's life. Be it a cricket field or shop floor. It carries a myriad set of emotions. It's a massive achievement in working spell of life.

Hence, it is importance to handle the events of retirement with utmost care and sensitivity.

I am glad that your organization is considering renaming or avoiding usage of word retirement. As a matter of fact 60's are new 30s. The person who retires, she/he carries a massive experience and expertise and that competence would help them to start new inning. Therefore retirement ought to ingite new prospectives and encourages new form of contributions.

Agree with Dinesh Sirs views and draft.

Dear Madam,

Please be noted that communicating about superannuation of the employee is an official communique and it needs to be precise and clear. So far as employee's contribution, appreciation and achievements etc are concerned the same could be conveyed separately through a service certificate. One of the simple format which is being followed in most of the Public Sector Companies is as follows: -

"Consequent upon attaining the age of superannuation, Shri ______________, Designation _________________ will retire (cease to be) from the services of the company w.e.f. ________, and accordingly, he will be relieved from the services of the company on ________ (AN).

The final dues of Shri __________ will be cleared by Finance Division on receipt of No Dues Certificate from all concerned."
