I was hired as a fresher in a BPO as an HR executive. Since my performance was satisfactory, I was given a lot of responsibilities, such as organizing company-wide fun activities and managing my executive duties. Three months ago, an AVP (a woman) in operations decided to give me feedback, saying I'm not focused at work and asked if I am dating someone from work.

While I clarified that I am focused and not dating anyone, she now picks on me by tagging me with an agent! I have actually decided to move out from the process she leads or quit, which I informed my senior manager. This was found out by the AVP, and she tells me it's no big deal. I don't know what I should do since I've completed 15 months, and it's been humiliating for me to work this way.

Dealing with Difficult Personalities in the Workplace

There are certain pathological types of personalities in organizations who cannot bear to see anyone being happy at work. They create problems by belittling others and derive great satisfaction from doing so. Dealing with them can be a very difficult process; sometimes ignoring them may work, but it is often better to look for an alternative job, especially when the offender holds a position as an AVP and may be challenging to get along with.
