Hi All, I joined recently a Startup Co as HR. In this company, I need to start HR and Payroll activities from scratch. Unlike my previous role as HR, I had not got a chance to work on employee Tax matters. But in the present company, i have the responsibility to take care of that too. Please help me with the step-by-step process, when we have employees who are drawing taxable income. Also, we have not started PF and ESI also as of now.

There are a lot of salary apps/software available which can help you, choose the one best suited to you. As regards taxation matters, you are personally responsible for tax compliance, so this is a serious matter and you need to have a very clear understanding of the provisions. That will be a little bit of extra work in the initial months but once it stabilises it won't take much of your time. Probably you will have a Tax Consultant, so make use of their expertise.
As regards PF & ESI start compliance before these agencies knock on your door.
