I worked in Company-A for 3 years until 16-Jun-18 but the relieving letter issued has the date 16-Jul-2018. I joined company A on 18-Jun-18 hence making an overlap. Now I am ready to join Company-c. Although now my current employer Company B has agreed to correct the joining date in relieving letter by pushing to July ie, 18-Jul-2018. Hence my relieving letter won’t present an overlap. Would this be an issue in the company during background verification?

Hi Please help me to sort out this issue. My current company A Joining date is Aug 10 and previous company B relieving date is Aug 28. Is this will be issue in BGV in company C? If it is issue how to sort out. Plz guide me how to solve this...

Karthick - the issue is related to overlapping dates of relieving with the dates of joining between your several employments.

The answer is - yes. BGC companies would go by the documentation you submit them for verification of facts. There is a clear overlap between your first two employments - so, BGC Agency is going to highlight the discrepancy to your next employer where the matter is escalated to a senior HR contact pretty quickly for taking a decision in this case. They may or may not grant you pardon, basis the presented facts.

Practical advice - please do not get entangled in offering explanations to every employer about this. Please reach out to your first employer straight away and get a corrected letter of relieving issued from there. The corrected letter would serve as a final proof of your correct employments dates. Offering explanations everytime does not solve the purpose and is inefficient.
