My friend works at TCS and very soon will be switching to another company; he has 65 days of earned leaves. TCS has a policy of a 3-month notice period. With these earned leaves in hand, can he work for another 25 days (after submitting resignation) and use those ELs (65 days of ELs to be used for a buyout) and simply leave the company (option 1)? If he's asked to serve the whole 3-month period, will be it compulsory for him to serve the period (option 2) or he can still go ahead with option 1?

@Ananyo before putting resignation, it would be wise to discuss the issue with concerned HR, own set of mathematic calculations may not meet the requirements of the establishment,

Agree with Glidor, it need to be discussed with the HR department of the company internally. No specific ruling about adjustment of PL/EL with notice period.
