The incorporation formalities would vary depending on whether it is proprietary, partnership or a company which is running the firm. Then it has to be registered as per the taxes applicable. As regards a factory, the factory needs a license to start the construction in case of having a manpower of 10 or more and where power is used, otherwise with 20 or more persons. You will have to apply to the Chief Inspector of Factories of the respective state where the factory is put up in the prescribed Form. The requirements of it would depend on whether there is any 'hazardous process' carried out in the manufacturing process, as per the Factories Act 1948. Thereafter depending on the nature of your operations there will be a whole lot of registrations required under various labour laws.
