A joint declaration along with DOB PROOF has to be submitted through employer.
Also necessary anendment has to be done in aadhar through aadhar facility centre to avoid future problems in epfo as epfo mainly has aadhar authetication system for all the transactions in future.

The voter ID Card is not a proof of date of birth. The basic document is the extract of birth register or the School Leaving Certificate. The other documents are self declared and could be self serving. So relying on them is a serious flaw and it could open floodgate for many such outrageous claims. If the employee has no documentary proof, the declaration made by the employee at the time of his joining has to be accepted as final and to be binding for all purposes. There are reported matters where the employees seek change of date of birth nearing their retirement. In one organisation looking to the genuineness of the document it was agreed in one case and within a short time there were hundreds of requests and it became a major botheration.
