Use of Power in Manufacturing Processes

There is no lower limit on the use of power in the manufacturing process. Indeed, it could be a factory even if there is no use of power in the manufacturing process, like traditional brick kilns, tile factories, etc.

Further, it has been stated that even if power is used for lighting purposes in the work area, it would still be considered a factory. For example, a stitching unit with traditional sewing machines or the work area where a halwai makes sweets could be considered a factory, provided there are a minimum of 10 workers working under electric light.
