I am working in Tech Mahindra for the last 3.5 years in the GIS Process. Due to serious pain in my spine, I have submitted my medical documents to HR and confirmed ok to relieve without serving the notice period on 19th NOV 20. So I took an offer from another company now the either the RM or HR not responding to my call and asking to serve the notice period for 2 months after the PC is submitted in the office.
My joining date in the new company is 30th Nov and I am missing this opportunity because of TechM management being very rude not responding to my calls, this is very disgusting as they are asking me to serve the notice without working sitting idle at home. I have never seen any organization showing this type of behaviour to employee and never recommend anyone to join such type of organisation.

Dear friend,
The fact of your joining another organization soon after getting relieved from the present one on the medical ground coming to the knowledge of the Company or the possible rejection of relaxation of notice period waiver assured by the HR might be the probable reason for the insistence on serving the notice period despite the current WFH situation. The prevailing WFH also would justify the stand of your present employer.
If you cannot continue your present job even on WFH due to severe back pain, how would it enable your immediate joining in another organization and complain against the no response? It is neither logical nor fair.

I was working as a QA for all these years and due to pandemic situation company dissolved QA process and asked me to do production for a new process which is very critical and no proper training was provided due to WFH. Asking me to work more hours ,even on weekend and made my health condition down. So I was really not happy with the work and with new mentor behaviour. So I resigned and got an approval on email from my HR stating no need to serve the notice on health grounds and she asked to submit the PC in office which was already done last week. I am surprised because my manager is now saying that she gave a approval without Process head approval and he cant help me in this situation. Now the new employer is asking for resignation acceptance letter and I may miss this opportunity and unable survive during this pandemic situation as I am the only primary source for my family. Please help me to come out of this situation.

Dear Omprakash,
Very well I can understand your precarious position. But your employer should be considerate enough to understand it and come forward to ratify the action of waiver of notice already done by the HR which is what called as quality of the Management as an organic body. When they refuse for obvious reasons, people like me can only advise you to strictly observe the rule of exit and make it a peaceful one. Better approach your G.M or V.P to permit you to buy out the notice period so as to join the new job on time.
